About

Japanese mailboxHi, I’m Kimberly and welcome to Kimberly At Home. I own a tiny handmade greeting card business, Galaxie Safari, where I incorporate vintage typewriters and old postage stamps into sentimental and punny card designs. I host the Dive Bar Letter Writers every month at a local dive bar. I occasionally speak at libraries about the love of letter writing and I teach card making workshops. I enjoy creating cocktails, writing letters, eating at old Italian delis (Freddy’s is my favorite), reading old novels, gardening, and antiquing. Oh, and I believe that all handwriting is good handwriting.

My husband, cat, and I live in Forest Park, a near-suburb of Chicago.

I just found your blog through Holly from So Dang Brilliant. I love your honest story about having hairy arms! Wonderful!

How did you like Handy Vito? We’re in Oak Park and need some flooring and plumbing work done in our bathroom. Thanks!

  3. Dina says:

Also, where did you get your flooring? Or at least what brand is it? Thanks!

  4. Dina says:

Okay, now, we are now thinking seriously about doing an Ikea kitchen. So what did you use for countertop material? Handy Vito didn’t install the cabinets but did everything else?

Hi Dina! Vito only cut out the wall for us. Ikea’s contractors built and installed the cabinets and the granite counter tops and my dad (with a tiny bit of help from us) did everything else (flooring, painting, plumbing, etc.)

We would like to know more about the vintage relish dish you got as a gift. We have one and would like to know more about it.

      Hi Al & Lorraine!
I’m sorry but I don’t know very much about it. I know it’s vintage, but it didn’t come with any information or markings–just good ol’ American cut glass I assume 🙂
